CareOfID account deletion

This page provides the external account-deletion path for the CareOfID website and Android application.

Delete while signed in

Sign in, open your dashboard and select Delete my account. You must confirm your password and type DELETE. Successful deletion signs you out and immediately removes the account’s public visibility.

Request deletion without signing in

If you cannot access your account, send a request from its registered email address to info@careofid.com with the subject CareOfID account deletion request and include your COID, if one exists. Do not send your password, authenticator code or identity documents by ordinary email.

CareOfID will verify control of the account. An unresolved paid service must be resolved through support before automated deletion.

What is deleted

CareOfID removes or de-identifies login credentials, email address, phone number, names, stored profile image, public destinations and associated personal data that it is not required to retain. Public links stop being associated with the deleted account.

Limited retention

Routine deleted account data may remain inaccessible in daily backups for up to 35 days and monthly backups for up to 12 months. Administrator audits, closed claims or complaints, policy acceptance, privacy-request evidence and transaction records may be retained for seven years when needed for accountability, dispute resolution, financial or legal compliance. A documented legal hold can extend the relevant period. At the end of the period, personal data is deleted or de-identified; only minimal anonymous decision, ownership, accounting or statistical records may remain. A former COID may remain unavailable where identifier integrity requires it.
